Measured Ability is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to join our team as a Retail Leasing Administrator. Based in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg—covering the Sandton, Midrand, and Diepsloot regions—this role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our retail property portfolio. If you are a proactive administrator with a background in the property sector, we invite you to help us manage our leasing lifecycle and tenant relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities
As our Retail Leasing Administrator, you will be the backbone of the leasing department, ensuring all documentation and processes are handled with precision. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full administration of retail leasing processes, including new deals, renewals, and lease documentation.
- Overseeing lease renewals by tracking expiry schedules, preparing necessary paperwork, and monitoring progress until completion.
- Maintaining accurate tenant files, lease agreements, and comprehensive leasing records.
- Coordinating the end-to-end tenant onboarding process, including applications, FICA/KYC compliance, and credit checks.
- Liaising with tenants and internal stakeholders to follow up on outstanding documentation, approvals, and general leasing requirements.
- Providing administrative support for new developments, tenant relocations, and ongoing leasing activities.
- Assisting with internal reporting, commission tracking, and day-to-day administrative tasks.
Requirements and Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should possess a strong background in property administration and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in property administration, with specific exposure to retail leasing.
- Proven property leasing experience is essential for this position.
- Thorough familiarity with lease documentation, tenant onboarding, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with property management systems such as PIMS or MDA.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet firm deadlines.
